Replicating Data to BigQuery With SAP Data Services
What is the benefit
of replicating data to BigQuery from the SAP Data Warehouse?
It enables businesses
to carry out critical reporting processes and data analytics. Users can also
replicate data from SAP to BigQuery to analyze all SAP and third-party
data in one place and get real-time analytics. This is possible without
replicating data and ensuring live connectivity to query BigQuery by virtual
tables. This results in the maximization of the Rate of Return in SAP and
Google services.
Provided support is
given for SAP to BigQuery, the database can be either SAP HANA or any
other system. The replication from SAP to BigQuery is used to combine SAP
systems data with BigQuery. This data is later used to get deep insights from
Machine Learning (ML) for analysis of data on a petabyte-scale. SAP system
administrators who have the required skills and expertise in configuring SAP
Basis, SAP DS, and the Google Cloud are well placed to handle SAP to
BigQuery replication.
A flowchart has to be
followed for SAP to BigQuery data movement.
First, SAP
applications have to update all data in the source system. Next, changes made
to the data are replicated by the SAP LT Replication Server and stored in the
Operational Delta Queue. During this process, changes to the data are
continually tracked at pre-set times by a subscriber of the Operational Delta
Queue, SAP DS. Next, SAP DS pulls the data from the Delta Queue and formats it
so that it matches a structure that is compatible with BigQuery. Once this
process is completed, data is loaded from SAP to BigQuery.
The data is now
customized for cutting-edge business analytics.
